Do you want to know more about your tutors? Well, there is Marie and Laurent, the founders of Latitude French, who after working in Auckland for 5 years are now based in Wellington. At Latitude French we want to keep small, friendly and deliver tailored French lessons to our students. :-)

Marie and Laurent are native French speakers, born and breed in the heart of Europe, in the very small country of Belgium, famous for its beer, great chocolates and waffles. We are from the west part of Belgium; the old town of Tournai, a stone’s throw from France and the main city of Lille. "

"Early 2010 we landed in New Zealand with many ideas for projects and proud to be resident of such a nice country. The seeds of Latitude French were quickly sowed, and here we are, happy to meet great kiwis and share our language and culture with our students in Auckland and Wellington"

My name is Marie, I am passionate about architecture, art, outdoor activities and travelling. I really enjoy the French language and the very rich French literature.

Following a 3 year degree in interior design and a 5 year masters in Architecture, I worked as an architect in Belgium and in France for a few years. Seven years ago, I migrated to New-Zealand with the idea of creating my own business, and getting to interact with the people. I have come to realise that I could combine both goals with my enthusiasm for the French language.

I have a real passion for promoting the French language. Over the last 7 years , I have had the chance to teach French to people from various backgrounds and different needs. Students from all age and all levels (de “7 à 77 ans” as we say in French). I am based in Camborne-Plimmerton.

Hi everyone. I’m Laurent, the other tutor and founder of Latitude French. I was born 41 years ago in Tournai, a very old town of the French speaking part of Belgium. I have a scientific background and I have worked as an IT engineer for large companies in Europe and New- Zealand. I’m fond of travelling, learning from the people and cultures of the places I visit.

My name is Trang. I grew up in East of France and spent the last 20 years in Paris area. I used to be a social worker in France. I taught French in China and in a social-integration support association in France. I also had the opportunity to promote French culture through various workshops. I love dancing, cooking and travelling I hope to see you soon!

"Bonjour ! My name is Clara and I’m originally from Paris. I’ve been living in Aotearoa for 6 years and I also previously lived in Argentina in a beautiful city called "Salta La Linda". I enjoy travelling around the globe to experience cultures, countries and to meet new people. I studied how to teach languages in New Zealand and started my journey as a French teacher for children and adults. I love teaching especially my mother tongue French to various people. I also like sports such as running and cooking Asian dishes. A très bientôt !"

" Bonjour à tous! My name is Violette and I'm coming from Brittany, a beautiful region at the north-west of France. I studied History for many years in France, where I was as well working as a director of leisure centres and summer camps for kids and teenagers. I have been working as a French tutor since May 2018, as well as a Spanish tutor. I'm passionate about languages and I love sharing it with people. I've just been graduated as a teacher of French as a Foreign Language, with a specialization for teaching French to kids.

Violette started working with us in April 2019 (based in Sandrigham)
